Agreed Medical Exams: The Tie Breaker
The Agreed Medical Exam (or AME) is often considered the tie breaker IME between Plaintiff (Claimant) and Defense of a given case or is used by adjusters and insurance since it is the only independent review that overrides the opinion of the treating physician in certain states. The goal of the AME is to aid the judicial body in reaching clarification and aid in being a resolving factor leading to a suitable determination in the case. Given the nature of the exam and the authority level of the requesting party, AME's are performed at InMedEx by only the most qualified and respected physicians in a given specialty.
